Clean machine for perfectly clean laundry
Washing the laundry at lower temperatures with non-aggressive phosphate-free detergents is environmentally friendly, yet includes some downsides. Most notably, detergent and dirt residues in the washing machine tub provide an environment conducive to development of bacteria. As a result, the laundry that may have been normally washed and dried will get an unpleasant odour as soon as it comes into contact with moisture. It is rather difficult to deduce that the cause may be the bacteria from your washing machine. To avoid such trouble, Gorenje experts developed a special self-cleaning program called SterilTub which we recommend running once a month. The program takes a good hour and a half, without any laundry in the drum, at a temperature of 70° C. A large quantity of hot water, with double the normal spinning rate, will reach even the remotest corners of the tub and effectively wipe out the bacteria. Hence, your laundry will receive the most efficient treatment even with recommended lower washing temperatures and with environmentally friendly detergents.
